So the sweater does not fit!

I know, I know, my sweater does not fit.  But when it is cold out and you have not gone shopping you make due! Not much too much to report.  Pixie has decided that she really likes to hang on my ribs...so super fun! She is the size of 4 navel oranges and we have approximately 50+ days left!! That may seem long to you but it seems like it is tomorrow!

For my friend that freaked when they saw the nursery pictures...AKA Tori!....I would like to say that I did work on it this weekend and there has been much progress! You can know breathe a little.

See below for this week's pictures!  Until next week!! XOXO

Pixie's last airplane trip in womb!

It is the last airplane trip Pixie and I will take as one…I thought I might be a little sad about it but after I got home and saw how swollen I was (and uncomfortable on the plane I was)….I am going to be just fine.   I do have to say Pixie is quite the traveler she has been to Hawaii, San Diego and now just finished visiting San Antonio.   Granted all of these trips were for work but they have all been fun.   This last trip was for our big conference- The National Liver Conference.   According to my doctor, I am officially grounded until she is born.

At the end of the conference some of the girls went to the mall to get some cheesy San Antonio gifts.  We then went to the beginning part of the river walk which is where I had given up…my feet were done!  The girls had the option of Hooters or Chilies…we all opted for Hooters…why not, right?  It was fun.   I think we got back to the hotel at 9:00p and all went to bed.

Lauren, Laurel and Kat

Laurel and I had an early flight out…we had to meet in the lobby at 4:20a!  You all know the morning person I am so a big shout out to Laurel for putting up with me that early in the morning!!!  Our flight was chasing time….we took off at 6:10a and landed in Phoenix at 6:20a.  We then had about an hour layover, where Laurel proceeded to eat a Cobb Salad at 6:20 in the morning!  It really did feel like lunch time.  Brendan picked me up at the airport at 10:30a and we headed up to Seattle for a Sounders game.   We met up with the gang at Elysian Brewery and then headed to the game with Cara (not pictured sorry).  I will admit it…I was a bit of a party pooper!  I could not stand the entire game because my feet were so swollen they did not fit into my flip flops….you know how big my calves are…my leg and foot were that size!! WOW!

Elece, Bryce, Beth Ann, Gregg and Brendan

Pixie did well on the plane.  She was very active but we were fine!  This week she is the size of a cabbage and weighs 2.75 pounds...I have not felt hiccups yet…but I hear they are coming!  All in all….things are going great… I got my feet back to normal today!  Thank goodness!

The chart is getting really cramped because I am getting lower and lower...but it is still fun to chart it!

 Week 30!

She kicked right during this picture.

Ok we are back on track!!! Chat soon!

Labor Day Weekend!

So we are playing catch up with the blog…Week 29 was technically 9/2.   But we are going to talk about Labor Day weekend which was awesome!  We went for a drive with Gregg and Beth Ann over Deception Pass.  Beth Ann and I fell asleep on the drive home which I do not thing the boys minded because they just get to crank their music up and drive.

On Sunday, we had the O’Briens over for a BBQ.  Brendan made pizza on the grill.  It was super yummy!  Aunt Junean had dropped off Brendan’s birthday present early (by a month!) and Kathleen & I decided to take full advantage of the gift by going to the store and buying s’mores stuff!  I introduced them to the Caramelo s’more which was a hit!

Kathleen and Connor staring at the fire!

 Billie enjoying a s'more

 The cool birthday present!

This is Olive.  Her and Sadie got along great! Olive is the latest addition to Connor & Kathleen's family.

Pixie is growing like mad!  I can now feel the roll…rather than just a kick.  There is definitely less space in my stomach.   This week she is the size of butternut squash weighing in at 2.5 pounds!

When I look at this picture she does not look as low as she feels!

Week 28....A surprise visitor!

As promised from the last posting…below are pictures of the nursery!  Now, I know, this will stress my planner friends out.   It even stresses my mom out! This is really saying something because I don’t know if she has ever planned anything in her life…she is a fly by the seat of your pants person.  Even when she travels…she is not sure what day she is coming home and 9 times out of 10 does not come home on the day she was “planning” on returning.

However, do not fret friends…there is a plan!  My last wedding is 10/2.   I plan on working all weekend on 10/8 in the nursery so hold out for that week’s post!  I am sure you will feel much better about the nursery then.

This is standing from the window, looking into the hall.  All of the stuff on the bench (hope chest my dad made) is for Pixie!

This is from the hall looking at the window,  the bins are all of the clothes that do not fit me right now.

This is my favorite picture...it is of the closet....Lord have mercy on this closet!

So the week before Labor Day weekend Lauren stopped in the office for a minute.  Her brother was getting married Labor Day weekend.   It was such a blessing to see her...she just makes you happy!

 Lauren, Kati, Michelle and Laurel

Pregnancy is going great.  Nothing to complain about…Pixie is doing great!  I got to do the glucose test this week…I will say that it was the first time I really felt pregnant.  I went in early…fasting…which is never good for a pregnant person.  Drank the simple syrup and waited the hour to get my blood drawn.  I never really recovered that day…just a bit off all day.  Things are fine now!  Pixie and I had a doctor’s appointment.  She is still measuring a week early and the heart beat is strong.   This week Pixie is the size of a Chinese cabbage!  Not that I know what that is but that is how big she is…she should be weighing in at 2.25 pounds…however, knowing how she is going I am sure she is bigger than that!
Week 28!
Until next week! xoxox

Cankles and Cauliflower

There are days when I have cankles! (Where the calf muscle and ankle muscle meet and there is not division between the two).    Thank goodness it is not every day!   I was waiting for my bride to show for one of the weddings and I looked down at my foot and saw the cankle.   I started laughing so hard that I took a picture and sent it immediately to Keri for support.   I found out that walking a ton actually reduces my swelling!  Now I am very thankful for weddings.

LOL! Paige, I feel like I should watch Bridget Jones with you!

We are in week 27 and Pixie is the size of a cauliflower!  That is huge! She is weighing in at roughly 2 pounds.  We only have 87 days to go.   Brendan and I started talking about the nursery.   I will post a picture next week of where we are at in our nursery planning.  Everyone keeps asking us if we are almost done with the nursery and I just laugh…so just wait for next week when I show you our nursery.

This is me showing off a new materity tank top...it is the small things in life!  to have a shirt that covers your entire stomach is something else!  I love it!

I feel like she is getting lower....and the chart is proving it!

Until next week!

Just the two of us....

Well its official…I am pregnant!  We had our open house at work this week and there were a ton of friends from my previous employer that came to the event….and I guess I am not good at telling people I am pregnant because the comment was “oh my gosh Kati you are pregnant!”  It was pretty funny.

Pixie and I had a weekend without Brendan.   He went to Lake Tahoe with the boys (Devlin Brothers) for the weekend.   Have no fear Grandma Billie (Brendan’s mom) kept us occupied. Friday morning we met Pat and Oli (Olivia) to register.  Here I am thinking in and out in an hour.   I was kind of laughing when I got the text from Pat the night before that she had to leave at 11:30a; we were meeting at 9a after all.  Well she was right we clicked on stuff until the bitter end.  I was exhausted!  I kind of stressed Pat out because I did not register for anything that matched and did not have any kind of theme….so if you choose to go in there, please note Pat wanted me to get matching things but I just could not bring myself to do it.   Also, I found that I am not much of a girly girl….I do not want the ultra pink car seat or the over the top princess crib….I ended up registering for a ton of boy things because they were more chill.  Kudos to Pat for sticking it out with me.

Friday night we went to (Pat you can guess this one) the Olive Garden.  It is pretty much my guilty pleasure and James’ (Brendan’s dad) favorite place.   Brendan really hates the OG so whenever he is out of town, James and I make plans to go there….plus as James says the only time he gets a hot meal is when the kids are around and I could not deprive him of a hot meal!  Then on Saturday Billie and I went to Portage Bay CafĂ© in Seattle.  I think it is hands down one of the best places to have breakfast and I have officially narrowed down my order.  I can never choose between sweet or savory breakfast and then I found the farmers breakfast which is 3 eggs, bacon, potatoes and two waffles with a trip to the berry bar….YEP! I ate it all….and then did not eat the rest of the day because I was so full!  We then shopped our little hearts out mostly for pregnancy shoes.   My feet are starting to swell at the end of a wedding (Lord bless the women that have to be on their feet every single day of their pregnancy!) and when I have back to back weddings I pretty much want to crawl to bed….so I did it….I invested in some ugly pregnancy shoes.  They are not exactly the worst things you have seen but they are so not my standard pointy toe, 3” heels or fun funky boots.   Oh wells…it is totally worth it!

My favorite Pixie story of the week (yes I am that person) is that in my little ap on my iPhone it said that Pixie can distinguish voices now and that she can tell when your partner is talking.    I kind of figured because the last couple of weeks when Brendan talks she jumps a little…but I digress.  So I was telling Lauren that Pixie can hear her now and so then Lauren asked to hold the phone up to to her so that she could talk to her (remember Lauren is in San Antonio)…so I held the phone to my stomach and Lauren started talking.  Pixie wigged! She totally was kicking right where Lauren was talking.  It was so awesome!  Lauren flies home for her brother’s wedding in a couple of weeks so I am sure she will be able to talk to Pixie and feel her kick.

Pixie is the size of a hothouse cucumber!  As I said before, we had an open house at work….so today when the pictures were taken….it was kind of like a hangover without the alcohol.   All of us at work were looking pretty frazzled and just tried….Hope you enjoy the pictures!

This is Kaylene...My baby sister.  The thing on her cheek is her headset for her new job at Geneva.  She is rocking the position!

Where has the time gone....longest post ever!

I know, I know….I am late in posting again!  Well hold on to your fruit of the looms because this is a long one!!
Week 24... Pixie is the size of corn and her respiratory system is developing.

What an awersome week! One of the ladies I work with at Rock Creek Gardens took a wedding off of my schedule so that I could attend Brendan’s dear friend Chu’s wedding in Vancouver, BC.  It was the first time Brendan and I have been away from the house in a very long time…and I have to say…it was needed! Chu’s wedding was on a Sunday so we had all day Saturday to play.  We were able to drive Chuckanut Drive which is so stinking beautiful and also lands us at Chuckanut Brewery!   We then ventured over the border and stayed in a town called New Westminster.  It is an up and coming town with lots of good energy.  It kind of reminds me of Tacoma.  We walked the boardwalk and ate at a very cool pub.  Since we had to work on Monday, we unfortunately had to leave the reception early but the celebration (their wedding was technically in California a week before…and Iron Eagle (Louis Gossett Jr) married them! I am so upset we did not go to that!) and reception were beautiful!  I think my favorite part of the evening was when Chu had a second to visit with us…it was just fun seeing the connection between him and Brendan and listening to them laugh.  Here are some pictures from the trip!
Yummy beer at Chuckanut Brewery!

We went to Grannville Island Brewery in BC...it was more of a taprom with limited food.  I really like how they did the tasters because they lined them up with the beer you were having...thought it was a cool idea.  Brendan thought their beer was ok...I thought it had NO body to speak of which as a stout/porter fan it a big deal for me.

Look at how happy this man in when he is in the presence of beer!

So the brewery we went to was next to this big farmers market....it was the best happy accident of the trip!  We had not idea it even exisited so we go to play for a couple of hours there...the food...oh man the food.  There was fresh made pastas to take home and cook,  meat, cheese, ice cream, when you walked past the fruit you could smell its happiness.  I really wanted to move there for this market.  Pike's Place really needs to take note of this market! Oh, I finally settled on a peperoni stick...it was cranberry buffalo with some kick!  AMAZING!

Just the two of us at Chu's wedding.   I did not want to take a picture of the bride and groom because it drives me crazy as a planner when people do it!  They have been smiling all freaking day for a photographer...let them be and just talk to them that is all they want. I am confident that the bride and groom will share their photos if you are hard pressed for a picture....I have now stepped off my soap box, thank you!
Keri,  this is the dress I was trying to explain.   I told you I could not explain it!

Week 25...
We had our doctor’s appointment this week.  Pixie’s heartbeat is strong and everything seems to be progressing in a health way.  I did not know it was humanly possible, but I have proven that it is…a human being can gain 7 pounds in one month…that is right I have gained 7 pounds in just one month.  Just for reference I have gained 7 pounds the entire pregnancy…and now in one month I double this!  I gave Pixie a pep talk on the way out that we would not do that again.  Maybe having a month with only one wedding really did me in!  Thank God for August, I will be so active with weddings we will get back to 1-2 pounds per month.   Here is my disclaimer to all of you saying but you are growing a baby and you need to make sure you are healthy…I agree and I promise I eat and will not wig and go on some starvation diet….but not one woman (or man for that matter) out there can say 7 pounds in one month…eh…no big deal…I do not care if you were gestating an elephant… you would still care!

My dad’s birthday was on Friday (and my dear friend Tori’s too).  Brendan and I met up with the family at the Mongolian Grill and then I convinced everyone that we NEEDED ice cream so we crossed the street to 31 flavors! It was so good seeing my dad and Cathy.

I had two weddings one Saturday and the other Sunday.  My Sunday one was the worst wedding I have ever seen and/or coordinated.   There were some things that went down that are better left out of print…but just to give you an idea there was a fight by the hydraulic car show.  All of that to say that the bride and groom were as sweet as pie!  When I got home on Sunday I could barely move but managed to make it to work Monday morning so it could not have been that bad!

Pixie is starting to develop a schedule.  I think she is a night owl!  She really starts moving from 5p to about 11:30p and then wakes me up through the night when I attempt to lay on my stomach.  I can now distinguish between a kick and roll.   I am trying very hard to teach her to kick on command so that Brendan can feel her…but to no avail.   She has been riding very low (not where I think I dropped) but just lower than the last couple of weeks.  I notice it more when I am sitting because my stomach kind of rests on my legs…gross but true!

This week Pixie is the size of a rutabaga….seriously does anyone every know what that is…I mean we all know but do people actually have a reference point on the size of this?! She is gaining baby fat this week….good because I really wanted to gain more weight!  Pixie,  you just remember the pep talk we had!

Billie bought me this dress and it is so comfy!

Until next week!  I promise I will get better about posting....XOXOXO
