Well its official…I am pregnant! We had our open house at work this week and there were a ton of friends from my previous employer that came to the event….and I guess I am not good at telling people I am pregnant because the comment was “oh my gosh Kati you are pregnant!” It was pretty funny.
Pixie and I had a weekend without Brendan. He went to Lake Tahoe with the boys (Devlin Brothers) for the weekend. Have no fear Grandma Billie (Brendan’s mom) kept us occupied. Friday morning we met Pat and Oli (Olivia) to register. Here I am thinking in and out in an hour. I was kind of laughing when I got the text from Pat the night before that she had to leave at 11:30a; we were meeting at 9a after all. Well she was right we clicked on stuff until the bitter end. I was exhausted! I kind of stressed Pat out because I did not register for anything that matched and did not have any kind of theme….so if you choose to go in there, please note Pat wanted me to get matching things but I just could not bring myself to do it. Also, I found that I am not much of a girly girl….I do not want the ultra pink car seat or the over the top princess crib….I ended up registering for a ton of boy things because they were more chill. Kudos to Pat for sticking it out with me.
Friday night we went to (Pat you can guess this one) the Olive Garden. It is pretty much my guilty pleasure and James’ (Brendan’s dad) favorite place. Brendan really hates the OG so whenever he is out of town, James and I make plans to go there….plus as James says the only time he gets a hot meal is when the kids are around and I could not deprive him of a hot meal! Then on Saturday Billie and I went to Portage Bay Café in Seattle. I think it is hands down one of the best places to have breakfast and I have officially narrowed down my order. I can never choose between sweet or savory breakfast and then I found the farmers breakfast which is 3 eggs, bacon, potatoes and two waffles with a trip to the berry bar….YEP! I ate it all….and then did not eat the rest of the day because I was so full! We then shopped our little hearts out mostly for pregnancy shoes. My feet are starting to swell at the end of a wedding (Lord bless the women that have to be on their feet every single day of their pregnancy!) and when I have back to back weddings I pretty much want to crawl to bed….so I did it….I invested in some ugly pregnancy shoes. They are not exactly the worst things you have seen but they are so not my standard pointy toe, 3” heels or fun funky boots. Oh wells…it is totally worth it!
My favorite Pixie story of the week (yes I am that person) is that in my little ap on my iPhone it said that Pixie can distinguish voices now and that she can tell when your partner is talking. I kind of figured because the last couple of weeks when Brendan talks she jumps a little…but I digress. So I was telling Lauren that Pixie can hear her now and so then Lauren asked to hold the phone up to to her so that she could talk to her (remember Lauren is in San Antonio)…so I held the phone to my stomach and Lauren started talking. Pixie wigged! She totally was kicking right where Lauren was talking. It was so awesome! Lauren flies home for her brother’s wedding in a couple of weeks so I am sure she will be able to talk to Pixie and feel her kick.
Pixie is the size of a hothouse cucumber! As I said before, we had an open house at work….so today when the pictures were taken….it was kind of like a hangover without the alcohol. All of us at work were looking pretty frazzled and just tried….Hope you enjoy the pictures!
This is Kaylene...My baby sister. The thing on her cheek is her headset for her new job at Geneva. She is rocking the position!
