A Week Full of Emotions and Beerfest

This last week I had what I would call pregnant emotions….I seriously teared up 3 times this week.  As most of you know, I am not a crier!  My tears (let’s define Kati tears…it is the welling in the eyes that happens right before the tears fall, where you have to stop talking or you will lose it (lose it being the tears falling)).  I cried because I was too tired, because someone at work gave notice, and because I found out that my birthday gift from my sister was not only a picture of us but behind that was a picture of my Grandma Edna (AKA Grandma Larry) who passed away in April.  Man alive---here is hoping this week I am back to normal!

Brendan and I went to the annual beerfest this weekend and like most weekends this summer; it rained.   We all know rain really does not bother me….but I did have a freak out moment when getting out of the car, I realized that I had not tried my rain coat on in a couple of weeks…I was super stressed as I started to put it on because as we all know a rain coat is not effective if you cannot zip the bastard!  Thankfully with a deep breathe I was able to zip the coat (with enough room to squeeze my hands in the pockets) and off to the beerfest we went!

We had a ton of fun the “famous” Devlin brothers were there (Keri- you would know Tom and Tracy, he is the older part of the Devlin brothers).  Our friend Nick was also there (he is part of the Devlin crew). I learned that he won a competition for his beer and it will be showcased at the Great American Beer Festival!  This is HUGE!  It is in Denver and I think is the US’s largest beer fest.  Of course it is at the end of September so I might not be able to go but this is so stinking cool.    Also, I will give props to my friend Krissy who sacrificed a beer token for a glass of cider so that I could taste it….OH MAN WAS IT GOOD!

It was so nice to hang with friends and not have a wedding! (Not that I do not love weddings…but you get it)

This is Tom sharing a chair with me and the buddha.

We are into week 18 and the baby is the size of a sweet potato.  I feel like this is progression from the onion!  Nothing much to report…. Chat next week!

This chart cracks me up...clearly we should have been more scientific in the begining...Michelle and I have fun doing this!!
