Doctor Appointments

We have a healthy little girl.  She is growing and meeting all of her milestones (less giggling, it was the one checkbox I did not get to mark on the pediatrician form).

The last time I went to the cardiologist it was just Pixie and I.  It was so overwhelming for me because it was approximately a 2.5 hour appointment where I have to keep her as quiet as possible and also listen to what the doctor is telling me about her health.  This time I recruited Brendan to go with me!  Thank goodness he went is was the same as last time…ultrasounds, physical exam, ECG readings, etc.   Brendan and I took turns soothing her and keeping her still.  She was so good!   There really was no change with her heart which is not good but not bad…we go back in 9 months.

I can hold a bottle....

Destiny sent me a picture at work today saying that Pixie would not let Destiny hold the bottle that Pixie was in charge of the bottle.  The problem was that Pixie moves her head a ton when she eats so she could not keep the bottle in her mouth...Solution:  Destiny holds her head still and all is well!

Happy St. Patrick's Day (& Birthday Gramma Billie)

So as Brendan would say-Happy Amateur’s  Day,  the rest of the world would say- Happy St. Patrick’s Day and the O’Brien Family says- Happy Birthday to Billie!  What a day….We went to Gramma Billie’s house in the morning to wish her a happy birthday.  Since Bridget is not really welcome in bars she would not be joining in on the afternoon festivities.     Being an Irish girl I thought it only appropriate to take some St. Patrick’s Day photos (I am sure Keri, Beth Ann and Cailyn are cringing at the quality of my photographer abilities but it is better than nothing!).

A tuckered out little girl (and baby Marie) from wishing a happy birthday to Gramma Billie.

The shirt says I drink me milk by the pint

Later in the afternoon Brendan and I went up to Seattle for a birthday get together with Connor, Kathleen, James and Billie. We were at a fun little pub on Queen Anne. James got green beer and the rest of us had a proper pint of Guinness. Connor and Kathleen brought cupcakes that were AWESOME!  After that it was scarves up for the Sounders season opener…which we won!

Happy Birthday!!!

Pixie turns four months!

Bridget turned 4 months! This is such a fun age.  She loves to grab at things and she started babbling and expecting you to respond to her babbles! Seriously,  it is so much fun being her parents!

Things she loves: Moo, Ba, La La La book!  The sunshine crinkle book (as in you are in trouble if you leave it at home!),  baby Marie (a cloth doll),  Grandpa Nelson’s voice, Auntie Destiny! and putting anything in her mouth especially bibs or cloth...hands work too! She is a drooler!

Things she is learning to do:  She can totally hold her head up now but it seems like her head is too heavy so she does the lean,  she is holding on to things and kind of shaking them but not totally. She is so close to rolling over…oh my so close.  Sleep- I know this sounds strange but Pixie is not a good sleeper.  She has transitioned to her crib and is learning to sleep but I am up every 2-3 hours…we are getting better.

Bridget my love- my note to you:  When I am old and crazy and I start telling you things you did a certain months…don’t believe me!  I can barely remember now the difference between 3 and 4 months…and I am in the heat of it…so when I tell you that you slept through the night a four months…IT IS A LIE! Do not believe me.  You also did not walk, talk, crawl or have teeth.  These are all things I have been told by one of your grandparents that your dad or I did…the fact is that every parent is so damn proud of their child that a parent remembers their child being so advanced for their age…which your parents are cool so it’s possible but just know that I will brag about you when you have kids and what you did and did not do…and I promise you it is skewed and just my perception of you over the course of 60 years (because that is how old you will be when you are allowed to date!).

She loves to interlock her hands and then try to shove them in her mouth!

Don't worry she did not fall off...just looks that way.

No, no baby Bridge you are four months not five! Don't rush growing up!

Here is the 3 month old shot...she is really growing!

Gramma Billie's house

The other day we went to Grandma Billie’s house for a quick visit.   I just love her little outfit so I had to bust out the camera…
It is so fun because she is starting to move a ton!

Gramma Billie and Pixie! Pixie is still not quite sure about being held by some one other than mama or daddy

Hair cuts & Grandparents!

We are in the stage of Bridget only wanting mommy or daddy (really who could blame her HA!)…it is giving the grandmas stress.

On Friday,  I got my hair cut.  My hair was falling out in handfulls and it was grossing me out that my hair was all over my daughter.  I am told this is normal but it is horrible!  I actually have a small bald spot!  Thankfully, my friend Michelle (same Michelle that I work with) was getting her hair cut and called to see if her stylist could squeeze me in.   Michelle volunteered to help me with Pixie while I got my hair cut…I think it will be the last time she volunteers for that!  Bridget cried the entire and I mean the ENTIRE time!  I wanted to cut my hair shorter but I could not put Michelle or Pixie through it.

After all of the crying she passed out in the car with her baby Marie.  She finally found her fingers to sooth but she often gags herself with them!  We will get it down sooner or later.

On Saturday, Grandma Billie and Grandpa James left for Mexico.  We stopped by to say good-bye.   Grandma Billie and Pixie played pat-a-cake…she was kind of into it as long as she could see me or Brendan.   I could not resist…I love this outfit…she is too long for the dress but it fits her everywhere else!
I know the dress is too short...but it is so cute!

On Sunday, Pixie and I went up to my dad’s house.  Since it was early morning, my brain was not working and I failed to take pictures.  We had a ton of fun…she LOVES my dad’s voice every time my dad would talk she would scrunch her shoulders up and give a huge smile…it was so funny!
