Kicking and Growing....

We had such a beautiful weekend (it is now raining and 65)!  I actually had to put sunscreen on.   It was a pretty standard weekend for the O’Brien’s.  Friday night we went to the Polish House and celebrated Gregg’s birthday.   It was such a happy day Gregg and Beth Ann in the evening and Pat during the day!  Saturday I had a wedding and Brendan headed up to the eastside to see Gregg’s car in a car show.  Brendan said the car show was awesome….I will have to take his word on it because I still think Good Guys in Puyallup is the best.  Then Sunday I was in full recovery from wedding mode and Brendan mowed our massive hill.   It was still nice out when Bren finished all of his yard work that we got to go for a drive in the Miata….which always brings a smile to my face.

As far as being pregnant goes…things are going great.   I am in a strange phase where I eat a ton and then the next day not so much…Still no cravings or anything like that.   I am starting to lose my breath when bending over and I have what I call a wobbly bit on my sides that is starting to concern me because I have tried really hard to only look pregnant from the front…but I think you can now tell from the back (BOOO!).   Pixie, as we call her, is moving a ton!  It is kind of fun…I can now lie on the bed and watch my stomach jerk as she kicks.   We have still not come up with a name we super love.  We have decided that we are going to the hospital with a couple of names so that we can meet her and then determine her name.   She has transferred back to a fruit…she is the size of a banana this week which I think is considerably smaller than a spaghetti squash!

Until Next week….(oh and I promise to get a picture of Gregg and Beth Ann for you next time I see them)

Blame it on Michelle....

Ok I know I missed a week and almost this week….but I am back!  Here is what you missed.

For week 21, I headed out to sunny San Diego for a Radiology Conference.   The conference was great and to be honest a little boring which means that Michelle did a great job planning it!   The super great thing about the conference was that Lauren had to work the conference with me…and although it has only been a little over a month since she has left for San Antonio…it felt like forever and I was in desperate need of a Lauren fix.  Lauren and I had a blast; full of crazy adventures in a rental car, constant flow of food and very EARLY mornings.  If you have not met Lauren she is beautiful both inside and out.  She is someone that when you are with her you never want to leave because you are always having a good time, laughing and just being happy.   Since I did not take the chart and office pictures for this week I thought a couple of pictures from San Antonio would suffice.  I hope you enjoy them! (PS...Michlle was out this week too (in U-hah as her daughter Gracie says AKA Utah with her family so you can blame the delay of blog updating on her...even though Laurel stepped up to do it we kept getting distracted and forgetting...Michelle is our task master on this blog!)

Lauren and I looked at this fountain all day...we were inside, sitting behind a table on uncomfortable chairs looking out at a sunny day that we could not be a part of...so we broke free and took a picture! PS this is Lauren!

This is us in the sun!  You can tell Lauren is living it up in San Antonio...look how tan she is!

We went to the Coronado Hotel and had the best burger ever.  We sat in the bar and listened to this man play James Taylor songs...and he actually sounded pretty good.  It was a ton of fun!

I was back to the grind for week 22 and playing catch up!  First there needs to be a flat out apology to Pat for being the worst friend ever and not getting back to her for almost 2 weeks!  But I have come back from the dead and am gearing up for a wedding this Saturday.   It has been super busy at the O’Brien house. I got sad news that my sister Keri will be staying in Hawaii for 2 more years…I am just not going to thinking about it…so we are fine with this, at least that is what I say when asked!   My mom came over and brought me loot on Friday… Which I love and then Brendan and I got to see her again the next morning for breakfast on Saturday!  It was off to a Sounders Game and hanging out with Gregg and Beth Ann.  I had not seen them in what felt like forever…but I think had been a few weeks.   We then met Billie and James for drinks at the new Twisted Kilt Pub in Puyallup (that is right I said DT Puyallup!)  It is a pretty cool join.   Then on Sunday we went back to Seattle to watch the women’s world cup (insert tear here) with Gregg and Beth Ann.   It was such a great weekend!  But I have to say that the best part of this week was watching Manchester United play the Sounders (Wednesday, so yesterday).  We met up with, you guessed it, Gregg and Beth Ann & Elyse and Brice at the Pioneer Saloon before the game.   I felt like a high school girl all giddy watching Ryan Giggs play!  It was such a great night!   So below are the usual pictures.   My sister Destiny told me that my pictures were not doing me justice because I am a lot bigger in person than in the picture (thanks…I think…) so we change the angle of one of the pictures…all in all you get the point I am pregnant!

I had turned for this picture so this is not our scientific approach to the chart it was to capture the size...which we did not feel worked hence the picture above.

Just so we stay up on our fruit at 21 weeks the baby was a banana and this week (22) she is the size of spaghetti squash….I feel like these are big jumps in fruit/ vegetable sizes but what do I know I just grow the sucker…I mean cute little girl!

Until next time! XOXO

IT'S A......

GIRL!   Yep…so start collecting if that was the wager you made.   I was so convinced it was a boy that I really had no way of processing that it was a girl.   Brendan’s reaction was priceless and perfect!  He is getting his baby Pixie!  Do not worry Pixie is not the official name which leads us to…we have no name…We (or maybe me) were getting down to finalists in the boy name department.   I really loved Rayland Harris O’Brien.  I know, I even gave up on my boy name of Finnan! Now that we know that it is a girl, I guess we should get to work on picking names and decorating the room….but we have 4 more months for that!

The ultrasound was awesome.   Brendan got to see Pixie move a TON!  We also saw all of her super healthy vital organs, toes and feet.   She is weighing in at 1 pound already!  This means that we will have a full grown toddler at full term!  Seriously, she is predicted to be around 8-9 pounds…Thank GOD for drugs (shut up hippies don’t even want hear it!).  I think the ultrasound made it very real for Brendan….for me it is like watching TV so I don’t connect that the thing on the monitor is the thing in my tummy….

I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July weekend!  We did!  Super chill, filled with family and sunny!

Below are some pictures…the standard that you are used to and the ultrasound pictures.   Oh...according to the books she is the size of a small cantaloupe!

Sorry  I do not know how to rotate the pictures in this program...so tilt your head to the right...you are looking at the head and tummy of the baby.
